What is ACE and what does ACE stand for?
ACE stands for After-School Centers on Education. ACE is a grant funded after-school program awarded to 10 campuses of HCISD: Long Elementary, Bonham Elementary, Dr. Rodriguez Elementary, Crockett Elementary, Lamar Elementary Dual Language Academy HCISD, Vernon Middle School, Vela Middle School HCISD, Coakley Middle School, Memorial Middle School and Gutierrez Middle School. It focuses on providing academic assistance, enrichment activities for students to join such as Dance, Martial Arts, Culinary Arts, Drumming, Sign Language, etc., Family Engagement for students/parents to attend, and college/career readiness. AND IT'S ALL FREE!!! Parents do not pay a thing! Parents can rest assured their children are in good hands, learning, in a safe environment, and staying out of trouble. Programming runs from 3-6 p.m. Monday-Friday. Friday's are FUN DAY FRIDAY'S! Register your kids in ACE TODAY with above campus coordinators! We encourage registered students to stay for ACE everyday for at LEAST an hour, or if they choose to stay the entire 3 hours, even better. There is bus transportation offered after programming as well.
